Same sex marriage seems to be a hot topic at the moment. Barely a day goes by without it being discussed in the news and it appears to be a contentious issue. As a wedding photographer I do a lot of gay weddings or civil partnerships and I love the real sense of celebration and long-overdue justice at gay weddings. It is an honour to photograph any wedding, gay or straight, as you are capturing precious, personal and historic memories. The big debate at the moment is whether gay weddings should be allowed to be celebrated in churches and I personally think that there are probably enough churches that would welcome the chance to hold same sex marriages and that they should be allowed to, and that these marriages should be officially recognised by the law. I love church weddings and if a gay couple is religious and wants to get married in church then they deserve the same opportunities as everyone else.

In 2007 I was one of the contributors for the book “A Very Pink Wedding” by Nicola Hill which is a gay guide to planning your perfect wedding day. I was also Nicola and Laura’s wedding photographer.
