These are some of the photos I took in January on my girlfriend’s birthday when we took a trip to the Tate Modern to see the Dora Marr exhibition, we spent an afternoon browsing various exhibitions and then went down the Thames on the river ferry to have dinner in Greenwich. A perfect day. It seems like such a long time ago now, before Coronavirus, social distancing and the lock-down, when the world felt like a very different place.

Before the lockdown, I was doing quite a few virtual tour shoots, 360 degree photos of properties so you can view the home remotely. The virtual tour photos are taken in addition to normal stills photos and I also do the floor plans.

I provide property photography and floor plans for estate agents in the Worthing area through Focal Agent. I love the flexibility of the work and can arrange shoots around other photography work. They are a decent company to do shoots for.

This shoot was for Leaders in Worthing. Over the last two years, since I moved to Worthing, I have done lots of work for Leaders, lettings, sales and also some staff photos. Missing the guys at Leaders and all my estate agent clients during this tough time and hope everyone is staying safe and looking after each other.

Looking forward to picking up where I left off when we are through this and doing more property shoots for Worthing estate agents. And I hope to be doing a lot more of the virtual tour shoots.

The photos in this post are a typical example of my interiors work and the 360 degree photos (link below) give potential buyers a chance to get a comprehensive tour of the property remotely. The perfect solution during these uncertain times…

Purple Space is the networking hub for disabled employees. On Tuesday 15th October I photographed the Purple Space event Networkology 2, a learning and development workshop designed to give disability network leaders the skills to build strong, high performing networks in their businesses. These are some of my favourite photos taken on the day.

I am a freelance photographer and wedding photographer, working in London, Sussex and the south east. I have been working as a photographer for over 12 years and prior to that I worked as an image retoucher and photography manager.

I work with business, disability organisations and charities offering lifestyle and corporate photography. I also photograph weddings, family celebrations, portraits, interiors and products.

I am passionate about photography, and at my happiest when out and about with a camera, whether photographing weddings, working for companies or causes I care about or just taking pictures of loved ones, interesting people, fascinating things and the world around me. Photography helps us to learn from the past, capture the present and change the future. Photographs record our journey through life and become memories.

My site works well on tablets & smart phones, the new design is cleaner and simpler to navigate.  There is now a private client area and a contact form, to make it easier for customers to get in touch and check my availability.

I also have a Youtube channel now, which showcases my photography through photo slideshows.

It has been a busy last six months, aside from the moving and redesigning. I have photographed some great weddings and family portrait sessions. The work with disability organisations and charities has been busier than ever and I am now photographing lots of Worthing area properties for local property companies, in addition to the regular London based corporate and interior photography assignments.

RIDI Awards 2018

The RIDI Awards 2018 were held at XL Catlin on Gracechurch St in the city on the 15th March and I was there to photograph the event. I always enjoy the awards and have been RIDI’s photographer for a few years now.

I was there to capture the speeches, presentations and networking and there was a logo wall to get staged photos of the winners and key speakers.

RIDI Awards 2018

The event was a great success, attended by over 120 delegates and was presented by Sophia Warner, the T35 Paralympian track and field athlete for ParalympicsGB. Sophie Christensen, Paralympics GB Dressage gold medal winner at London 2012 and Rio 2016, was also presenting an award. They both have cerebral palsy. I have done shoots for ParalympicsGB and also work a few days a week with kids with cerebral palsy and it was great to spend some time with Sophia & Sophie.

I was really pleased with the photos I took at the RIDI Awards 2018, especially the photo of Sophia & Sophie which I think captures their genuine warmth and sense of fun.

Bettina & Dave – Demuth Photography

I love photographing weddings in Brighton and in October I photographed Dave & Bettina’s wedding. The service was at Brighton Town Hall and the reception was at Pub Du Vin just off the seafront. The weather was wild, with gale force winds and the constant threat of a downpour, but the wedding was a joyous celebration.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day

Last year I was photographer for Global Accessibility Awareness Day. This was an HSBC event that was supported by Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative and Ability Net. It was held at Blue Fin offices in London and there were a variety of demos and presentations that I was asked to photograph in addition to the welcome speeches.

The courses have been mostly in the south east but also a couple further north. To get the best light I do the shoots just after sunrise or just before sunset, when the sun is low in the sky.

Benny – Dogs Trust Shoreham

On the 11th October I did a shoot for Dogs Trust at their re-homing centre in Shoreham. As a dog lover (and a frequent visitor  over the years to Dogs Trust Shoreham) this was a really enjoyable shoot. The main subject of the shoot was ‘Benny’ a very friendly Staff/Lurcher cross.

I also got some shots of ‘Max’ at the end of the shoot in the centre. The photos are being used to promote the on-going Dogs Trust campaign “Sponsor A Dog”.

I look forward to doing more shoots for Dogs Trust. They are a great charity and do fantastic work looking after and rehoming our canine friends.

I am photographer for Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative and on 17th October they held their annual “Creating Disability Confident Recruiters Through Collaboration Presenter Briefing” at Eversheds Sutherland, 1 Wood Street, London EC2. The event was really well attended by recruitment professionals, RIDI representatives and special guests Sophie Chritiansen CBE (Paralympic equestrian winner of numerous gold medals) and ministers Penny Mordaunt and Philip Rutnam.

Earlier this year I photographed stills to accompany the Groupon tv ad campaigns. The shoot was organised by Partizan who I often do stills for and was shot on location in Surrey, covering three different short break ideas: horse riding, restaurant and spa. I love this type of work, you have to be creative and get the shots without holding up the actors or crew, as the priority is the filming.

The Science Museum

I love the museums in London, there is so much to see and it’s great value. During a recent trip to The Science Museum and The Natural History Museum with my son I took these photos. I was visiting as a tourist and just had my little Olympus Tough camera with me but couldn’t resist taking these shots.

I do a lot of photography for Porter & Davies who have developed drum stools and platforms that use bone conduction. The musicians can feel the music and keep in perfect time, eliminating the need for stacks of speakers. Shoots range from photos of artists on tour using the products to high key product shots. I also work a couple of days a week with disability groups. And recently we have been looking into some other ways that the KT Platforms can be used with people with hearing impairment and cerebral palsy. The platforms can be used to create an experience of rhythm, sound and music through the bone conduction technology. It is early days but we are very excited with the results so far. I will do a separate blog post soon covering this work in more detail.

I spent my school years growing up in Beckenham in South London and for a while we lived on an estate which backed onto Beckenham Place Park, so the park was where we played and spent most of our time during the weekends and holidays.

The park is huge and stretches between Sydenham, Beckenham & Ravensbourne. It used to have a public golf course but that is no longer there, but the wide open spaces and woody trails are exactly as I remember them. It is a shame that some of the park’s estate buildings have now fallen into disrepair. The big mansion, tennis courts, cafe and bar overlooking the course are still there run down now.

I was back at the park earlier this month as my son was taking part in a cycle race there. It was great to take a trip down Memory Lane. These photos were taken with my Olympus Tough camera.

London Skyline

I recently photographed the Partner Group Reception for Business Disability Forum at the IET in Savoy Place on the Thames. The IET has amazing views from the balconies and roof terrace and I was able to get some great landscape photos of London.
